The brown stains you see on the sterile drapes in these slides are Betadine surgical scrub. The usual blood loss during the procedure is only 1-2 drops. And don't worry, I don't take pictures of every vasectomy! A very special patient allowed the filming of his surgery.

1st Step:
Preparing the shaved site
with Betadine surgical scrub
2nd Step:
Anesthetizing the skin and
right vas with one injection,
and the left vas through the
same numb skin moments later
3rd Step:
Holding the right vas through
the skin with the vas clamp
4th Step:
Opening the skin and freeing
the sheath off the right vas
with the vas dissector
5th Step:
Scarring the inside of the
right vas with the cautery
6th Step:
Cutting the right vas in half
7th Step:
Applying the titanium clamp
to the right vas sheath to
hold the vas ends apart
8th Step:
Repeating the same procedure
on the left
9th Step:

and the underwear are replaced
This procedure was complete 8 minutes after the anesthesia was given.
